CRISIL assigns ESCO Grading to Salzer Electronics Ltd

CRISIL has assigned ESCO (Energy Service Company) Grading as CRISIL -BEE Grade 1 to our Company which indicates 'Very High' ability of the Company to carry out energy efficiency audits and undertake energy efficiency projects.

For 5 years in row, the company has been maintaining this grade with its consistent contributions to Energy Saving Measures initiated by various state governments promoting energy efficiency projects in their mass lighting systems.

Shares of SALZER ELECTRONICS LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.183.65 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 182.45. The total number of shares traded during the day was 2524 in over 42 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 184.05 and intraday low of 180. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 458623.

Salzer Electronics secures new order


Salzer Electronics has secured a Letter of Intent worth Rs 18.70 crore from Energy Efficiency Services, a joint venture company of PSUs of Ministry of Power, Government of India for designing, manufacturing, supplying, installing, commissioning, testing and maintaining of lighting controls for installed LED streetlights in the Urban Local Bodies - Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Jalna (Maharashtra) and Jharkhand.

Salzer Electronics Ltd announces merger of Salzer Magent Wires Ltd


Salzer Electronics Ltd has announced regarding Merger of Salzer Magnet Wires Limited with Salzer Electronics Limited - Continuous Disclosure under Regulation 30 of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Shares of SALZER ELECTRONICS LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.179 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 179.8. The total number of shares traded during the day was 33128 in over 353 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 185.9 and intraday low of 178.1. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 5997701.

Salzer Electronics in pact with Austrian firm


The tie-up will help the company manufacture dry type transformers for its customers in India and abroad.

The Coimbatore-based Salzer Electronics has entered into a technical and licence agreement with Austria-based Trafomodern.

Salzer will use Trafomodern’s technology to manufacture dry type transformers for its customers in India and abroad. Currently, there are only a few companies that manufacture this product in the country.

Salzer was already manufacturing transformers and wanted to get into dry transformers too. “The project cost for the manufacture of these is estimated at Rs.20-25 crore. Trial production is likely to commence in the third quarter of this financial year, and the commercial production next year. “Initially, we expect Rs.10-15 crore business from this segment,” a company spokesperson said.

In 2014-2015, Salzer reported Rs.308 crore turnover, and is targeting about Rs.400 crore this year.

Salzer Electronics testing new product for export markets

Coimbatore based Salzer Electronics Ltd (SEL), which is into the manufacture of rotary switches, wires & cables, has entered into an agreement with US based C3Controls for the manufacture of contactors.

The company, in which the engineering giant L&T holds about 26 per cent stake, has also designed two new products for the Indian railways.

In a communication to the stock exchanges, SEL said that it has forged a strategic alliance with C3Controls, which was a prominent player in the electrical switch gear space in the US, for the manufacture of contactors. The product that had been developed was under validation with UL, which was a leading certification agency. The company had already commenced production and was targeting the US and Asia which are they key markets for this product.

SEL said it had also designed two products for the Indian Railways. While the fuse change over system was used in signalling, the track feed battery system was used for changing over the battery chargers in the track feeding system. The company has been accorded the ‘preferred supplier’ status by GE and Schneider for their international operations.

In the quarter ending March 31, 2015, SEL has posted net sales of 75.84 crore as against 64.13 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal, an increase of 18 per cent. The net profit for the quarter was up by 72 per cent to 3.36 crore (1.95 crore) and the EPS was 3.27 (1.90).

For the full year 2014-25, the net sales stood at ₹276.22 crore (₹238.26 crore), a growth of 16 per cent and the net profit jumped by 42 per cent to 11.98 crore (8.44 crore). The EPS for 2014-15 was 11.65 (8.21), a 42 per cent increase.

The board has recommended a dividend of 1.50 per share (15 per cent).

D Rajesh Kumar, Joint Managing Director and CFO, SEL said because of the strong performance on the export front, the company’s topline had recorded a 16 per cent growth. He said in the forthcoming quarters SEL would focus `more on entering the eastern geographies and also expand our product offerings’. He expected the company to `grow at 25 per cent in the coming year’.

Shares of SEL closed at 230.20, down by 2.40, on the BSE.

Karunya-Salzer innovation cell opened

Coimbatore: Karunya-Salzer innovation cell is the joint initiative of school of electrical sciences, Karunya University and Salzer electronics Ltd., Coimbatore. This innovation cell will bring students, researchers, professors and industrial professionals together to develop innovative products in the field of electrical and electronics sciences.

The cell is formed with a vision to empower the students on par with industry and to provide students with practical training and equip them with the latest technology. A MoU was signed between Salzer electronics ltd., and Karunya University to provide industrial visit, in-plant practical training, minor and major projects to the students of Karunya University at Salzer factory on mutually agreed schedule.

This will benefit the students to develop and select new products in the innovation cell, Salzer will provide materials for this project. A successful, unique product may be patterned and a commercial manufacturing unit may be organised by Salzer electronics limited with mutual benefit. This will also encourage the students to start their entrepreneurship programme.
